Is this a good time to make home improvements, or should we wait until the economy improves?

We’re debt free, but live on a fixed income. We have some home improvements we need to make but are hesitant to do so considering the economic crisis we’re facing at this time in our country.
Would it be better to wait until things have improved?
Any thoughts on this or advice from people in similar situations?

Given how expensive steel, timber, gas, etc. are, I would hold on the improvements unless they are absolutely necessary. When the economy starts to turn some time next year, it would be a better time to make elective improvements.
this is a major decision. i would ask God for the answer.
God bless.
Things like painting and landscape don’t cost much if you do it yourself. Other good improvements might be better insulating your home and toilets that use less water. These things will benefit you. Don’t blow money on things like hot tubs or swimming pools or room additions. Good luck. Have fun.
Be frugal – and keep the property in good condition. Do a little at a time to continue maintaining a your home in good condition… but don’t go hog wild on big projects. If the bottom falls out tomorrow and prices soar – you don’t want to be caught with your cabinets down!
Peace.
